Medical test on Tuesday confirmed signs of rape after examining the female police member who had brought rape allegations against her five co-workers, of whom one was her former husband.

The test was done by Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

According to DMCH’s One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC), the evidence of rape of the policewoman has been found in the forensic test and they have already received the test report on Tuesday.

The sources, however, declined to elaborate whether the test found the evidence of ‘gang-rape’ or only rape by the cop’s ex-husband.

The 24-year-old female police constable of the Turag police was gang-raped allegedly by her former husband ASI Kalimur Rahman and his five associates at a Khilgaon residence in the Dhaka on 11 June.

On 13 June, she lodged a complaint with the Khilgaon police in this regard. Later, she was admitted to the DMCH. The victim also underwent the forensic test the following day.

Contacted, officer-in-charge of the Khilgaon police Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan said they are yet to receive the forensic report.

“But, we’re informed that the OCC has already received the forensic test report. We hope to get it by tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.”

The OC also said the victim has already recorded his statement under the Section 22 of the Women and Children Repression Act 2000, before a court here on Tuesday.

The victim’s former husband has been on the run since the female constable lodged the complaint with the Khilgaon police.
