Dhaka: Ambassadors-designate of Cuba and Finland and High Commissioner-designate of Singapore to Bangladesh presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here on Tuesday.

The three non-resident envoys are Oscar Israel Martinez Cordoves of Cuba, Nina Irmeli Vaskunlahti of Finland and Derek Loh ED-Tse of Singapore.

President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the credentials presentation ceremony.

Welcoming the envoys, President Hamid said the foreign policy of Bangladesh is friendship to all and malice to none and it attaches importance to bilateral relations.

He hoped that the bilateral relations with the countries will further be strengthened during their assignments.

Noting that Bangladesh produces world-class products like pharmaceuticals, textiles, ceramic products, handicrafts and jute-made garments products, Hamid urged the three countries to import these products from Bangladesh.

Highlighting the country's socioeconomic progress, he hoped the envoys will take necessary steps to strengthen bilateral relations and increase trade and investment with Bangladesh.

The envoys told the President that they would do everything necessary to enhance bilateral cooperation with Bangladesh in the future.

The ambassadors sought all-out cooperation from the President in performing their duties.

Secretaries concerned to the President were present.

Earlier, on their arrival at Bangabhaban, the envoys were given guard of honour separately by a smartly turned-out contingent of the President's Guard Regiment (PGR).
