Scorching heat continues
People continued to endure sweltering weather as the country remained in the grip of a heat wave.
Met office said the sweltering summer heat may last for 2-3 more days.
Mohammad Shahinul Islam, assistant meteorologist at Bangladesh Meteorology Department, said a heat wave is sweeping the country and it may continue for two or three days more, reports UNB.
He said the country’s highest temperature 37.8 degree Celsius was recorded on Monday in Jessore while it was 36.8 degrees in the capital.
Many people still preferred staying indoors to avoid the hot weather while the day labourers and rickshaw-pullers were facing great difficulties in doing their works amid the scorching heat.
Meanwhile, the sales of summer fruits and drinks have gone up in the city amid the heat wave.
