Pabna: A man was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants in Masum Bazar area of Pabna town on Thursday night.

The deceased is Mollah Masud, in his forties, a resident of the area.

Officer‐in‐Charge of Sadar Police Station Abdur Razzak said as a sequel to previous enmity, some miscreants engaged with altercation with Masun at about 9:00pm in Masum Bazar area. At one stage of altercation, they stabbed him indiscriminately and left the spot soon, leaving Masum critically injured.

Later, local people sent him to Pabna General Hospital where duty‐doctors declared him dead.

The OC said several cases on charges of extortion, possessing illegal arms were filed against Masum with Sadar Police Station.
