Dhaka: BNP on Tuesday alleged that a 'fake' Facebook account (ID) has been opened using the name, mobile number and photograph of its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir with an evil motive to humiliate him.

In a press release, the party said fabricated and motivated comments and status and photographs have been posted regularly on the 'fake' Facebook account that have no involvement with Fakhrul.

"This attempt was taken only to embarrass him," it added.

The party voiced concern over the motivated acts, and called upon those indulging in such a misdeed to stop it immediately.
