Gopalganj: Some miscreants vandalised two Hindu idols at Kalibari temple of Ghoshgati village in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj in the early hours of Sunday.

Ranjan Kumar Bishwas, the president of temple committee, said they locked up the temple after evening prayer on Saturday night. Later, some miscreants vandalised the idols of Hindu Goddess Kali and Hindu God Shib at dead of night.

The priest of the temple found the idols vandalised and informed police at about 5:00am on Sunday, said officer‐in‐ charge of Gopalganj Police Station Mohammad Selim Reza.

They were trying to catch the offenders, he added.
