A woman allegedly attempted to commit suicide after strangulating her five-year-old daughter to death at Harirampur village in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur on early Friday.

Mostak Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station, said that Sadia Khatun, wife of Ershad Ali, strangulated her daughter Maimuna Khatun to death around 2:30am over family feud, reports the UNB.

Family members sensed the matter while Sadia was trying to hang herself after killing daughter.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The injured Sadia was admitted to Parbatipur Upazila Health Complex.
