Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained 12 suspect militants including AQIS coordinator and adviser and recovered huge amount of explosives and bomb making materials from different areas of the city early Thursday.

The detainees were Mufti Mainul Islam, coordinator of AQIS (ex Huji leader), Maolana Zafor Amin, adviser of AQIS and 10 others.

RAB headquarter sources said being tipped off, the elite force conducted the drives in different areas from Wednesday 6:30am to Thursday 2:00am and detained them.

RAB also recovered huge amounts of explosive, bomb making materials, various types of knives, many training and zihadi books from them.
