Satkhira: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly attacked on local people of Madra at Kolaroya in Satkhira along Bangladesh border in the early hours of Friday.
Later, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members and agitated local people drove away BSF members to India.

Local people said BSF members entered into Bangladesh border and attacked on local people claiming some Bangladeshi cattle traders brought Indian cattle. The sudden attack of Indian border guard spread panic in the border area.

BGB Madra company commander subeder Abdur Rab said members of BSF Hakimpur camp intruded into Bangladesh through the River Sonai by speedboats and boats and two BSF members chased local people with arms.

Several people were also injured as they tried to stop the BSF members and involved in a clash with the Indian force. The BSF members left Bangladesh border as BGB members reached at the spot.

Abdur Rab said BSF members left a gun with 20 bullets and a local boat.

However, BGB 38 Battalion commanding officer major Nazir Ahmed Bakshi and BSF 152 Battalion commandant Rajesh Kumar sat for a flag meeting after the incident. BSF official said sorry for the incident and pledged to avoid further incidents in future. BGB members also handed over the arms and ammunition BSF members left here in Bangladesh.
