Natore: Police found the bodies of a man and his wife in Shaol village in Singra upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased are Noni Gopal Kunda and his wife Chitra Rani Kunda.
Local people said miscreants strangulated Noni Gopal Kunda, in his seventies, and his wife Chitra Rani Kunda, in her sixties, to death in their residence early on Sunday.

Local people called police after they discovered the bodies lying in their yard in the morning.

Later police recovered the bodies. The Shingra police said it has been believed that the couple was strangled to death though the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.

Police said Noni and his wife lived here in Bangladesh while their two sons stay in India.

Muktijodda Shangsad commander of Shingra upazila Abdul Wadud said the deceased Noni Gopal Kunda was a freedom fighter.
