Patuakhali: A Patuakhali court on Tuesday rejected the bail prayers of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Rajib Ahsan and five others arrested on charge of possessing drugs.

Patuakhali Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate SM Tarek Shams passed the order as police produced them before the court in the afternoon.

The court also fixed 10 August for the next hearing on the case.

Earlier on Sunday night, law enforcers arrested Rajib and his five associates allegedly with 45 Yaba tablets and a bottle of hard liquor in a car at Lebukhali Ferryghat in Dumki upazila on Sunday night.

Dumki thana officer-in-charge of Azam Khan filed a case against them under the Narcotics Control Act.

The six JCD men were sent to Patuakhali jail on Monday after police produced them before the same court.
