Madaripur: Four people were killed and eight others were injured in a collision between a bus and a microbus in Melkai area of Tarash upazila, Madaripur, on Friday noon.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

All the deceased were passengers of the microbus.

The Kalkini police said the Barisal-bound bus collided with the Dhaka-bound microbus on Dhaka-Barisal Highway at about 1:00pm,

leaving four people dead on the spot and eight others injured.

Later, police recovered the bodies.

The injured were admitted to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex.
