Tangail: A woman was killed and her husband injured in a road accident in Suvolla area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway under Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.

The deceased is Marjia Begum, in her thirties, a resident of Salanga area under Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur.

Gorai Highway police officer-in-charge Humayan Kabir said the accident occurred when a bus hit a motorcycle from behind in the area at about 4:00pm, leaving motorcycle co-rider Marjia dead on the spot and her husband Mizanur injured.

Mizanur was sent to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
