Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

Noagaon: A Bangladeshi was shot to death by Border Security Force (BSF) of India near Bangladesh-India border at Dakhsin Patari village of Shapahar upazila in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased is Ziaur Rahman, resident of the village and a cattle trader.
Lt Col Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion 14, said a patrol team of BSF’s Rangamati camp opened fire at a group of cattle traders, numbering 10-12, while they were entering Bangladesh from India through 242 no border pillar at the village at about 5:00am, leaving Ziaur dead on the spot.
Other associates of Ziaur managed to flee from the area, he added.
