Ferry service of Bhola-Laxmipur route halted
Bhola: The ferry service of Bhola-Laxmipur route came to halt for the erosion of the road to Elisha Ferry Ghat area by the River Meghna in Sadar upazila on Monday morning.
Locals said all types of the vehicular movement on the road came to a halt as it was totally damaged due to the erosion caused by the strong waves of the River Meghna.
Though the river erosion has been taking its toll on the road since Sunday morning, the officials of the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) could not take any step to stop it because of rough weather.
Abdul Hekim, executive engineer of Bhola BWDB, said, at least 300-metre road has been damaged following the rough weather and they could not take any measures for the weather condition.
