Gaibandha: Bangladesh Railway recently deployed 600 ansar members on Lalmonirhat-Shantahar route to prevent incidents of violence and sabotage.

The members were deployed at 75 checkpoints including Kaunia, Gaibandha, Bonarpara and Bogra stations of the route.

An eight ansars troop is on duty round the clock covering three kilometre area each, said divisional railway manager Dherendranath Majumder.

Bonarpara Railway Station officer-in-charge Saidur Rahman said the members of government railway police are vigilant to prevent any subversive activities on the railway lines en route.
