Sirajganj: Two people were killed and another was injured in a road accident at Mannan Nagar on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara Highway in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Shaheb Ali, in his fifties, and Milon, aged around 32, both residents of Hamkuria village of the upazila.

The Hatikumrul Highway police said the accident took place when a Bonpara-bound pickup van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Mannan Nagar at about 8:00am leaving the duo spot dead and the auto driver critically injured.

The injured was admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
