Barguna: A woman allegedly killed her two young daughters before killing herself at Lemua village in Sadar upazila in the district on Saturday night.

The deceased are Roji Akter, wife of Ruman Panchayet, and their two daughters Moumi, who is 4 years old, and Tayeba, who was 2 years old.

Local people said Roji first gave poison to her daughters and later took poison at about 10:30pm.

Later, they were taken to Barguna General Hospital where doctors declared Moumi and Tayeba dead.

Doctors referred mother Roji to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated. But she died on her way to the hospital.

Police suspected that Roji might have committed suicide after killing her two daughters following a family feud.
