Khulna: A 12-year-old boy was tortured to death at Tutpara Central Road in the city of Khulna on Monday night.

The deceased, Rakib, was died undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital at about 2:00am.

Local people said Rakib was admitted into the hospital in a critical condition after his former employers at a car repair shop inserted a high pressure air pump nozzle into his body.

The Khulna police quoting the local people said Rakib used to work at a car repair shop, Minto’s Motor Garage, but he left his job.   

The former employers of Rakib held him while he was crossing his previous workplace at about 10:00pm. They pumped gas through his anus and filled his stomach with air for leaving the job. Later Rakib was admitted to the hospital with terrible injuries, where he died.

Local people held three of the torturers, including the garage owner, Minto, beat them and handed over them to police.

The other two detainees are Minto’s brother Sharif and mother Beauty Begum.

Minto and Sharif were also admitted to KMCH prison cell as they were injured after beaten by the local people.

Earlier, on 8 July, a child, Samiul Alam Rajon, 13, was beaten to death on a theft charge at Kumargaon in Sylhet.
