Chittagong: Two people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a covered van and CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway at Santirhat area of Patiya upazila in Chittagong on Tuesday noon.

One of the deceased is Moktar, in his twenties.

Police said the accident took place when the covered van crashed into the auto-rickshaw at about 1:30 pm, leaving five people injured.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared two of them dead, said Nayek Mohammad Hamid of Chittagong Medical College outpost.
