Local BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Lakshmipur for Sunday protesting the arrest of leaders of the local 20-party alliance including acting district BNP president Saidul Islam Bhuiyan.

District BNP general secretary Sahabuddin Sabu announced the shutdown programme on Friday afternoon.

He said they will observe the shutdown from 6am to 6pm on sunday.

Sabu said the movement of the BNP-led 20-party combine will continue until the fall of the current government.
