Committee formed to quiz Izharul

Chittagong: Chittagong Metropolitan Police on Saturday morning formed a 10-member committee to quiz Hefajat-e Islam vice-president Izharul Islam Chowdhury.
Izharul was arrested on Friday in connection with a two-year-old bomb blast incident that left three seminary students dead.
The committee, led by CMM Detective Branch deputy commissioner Kushum Dewan, will interrogate the Islamic law scholar and director of several seminaries about the blast and related incidents, said additional police commissioner Debdash Bhatyacharjee.
Izhar Chowdhury, also the principal of Lalkhan Bazar Seminary, was on the run for two years after he had been named in three cases with the Khulshi police, added Detective Branch additional deputy commissioner ABM Faizul Islam.
Three students were killed and two others were injured in a bomb blast incident inside the Jamiyatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrassa, a seminary at Lakkhan Bazar in Chittagong, in 7 October 2013.
Police submitted charge sheets in three cases on 6 June 2014.
