Habiganj: A teenage girl was killed and 10 other people were injured during a clash between two groups of villagers at Dakhkhin Barog village in Madhabpur upazila on Saturday.

The deceased is Nasima Akhter, 15.

Madhabpur Police officer-in-chage Mollah Monir Hossain said there was longstanding dispute between the families of late Ashraf Ali and UP member Mahiuddin of the village over the ownership of a piece of land.

As a sequel to the enmity, the two groups attacked each other with sharp weapons at 2:00pm on Saturday, leaving Nasima dead on the spot.

Ten people from both sides suffered injuries in the clash.

The injured people were given first aid in a local hospital.
