Bagerhat: Two fish traders were killed and one truck driver was injured in a road accident at Aamtola area under Fakirhat upazila on Khulna-Mongla highway this morning.

Katakhali highway police officer in Charge (OC) Abdul Manna Farazi said a tyre of a paddy loaded truck was punctured at Aamtola area this morning. As the driver and helper of the truck were changing the tyre a Rupsha bound speedy pickup van from Gopalganj hit the truck from behind.

As a result, the pickup van got dangerously twisted and the two fish traders Ariful Islam and Rabiul Islam who were in the pickup van died on the spot.

Truck driver Emdadul Haque, in his fifties, was seriously injured and was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Police seized both the damaged truck and pickup van from the spot.
