College girl ‘commits suicide’ for HSC failure

Gazipur: A college girl who failed in this year’s HSC examinations allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Bhim Bazar area of Gazipur on Sunday night.
The deceased is Champa Akhter, 18.
Police, quoting locals, said Champa, who had appeared at this year’s HSC examinations from local Rover Palli Degree College, went to the college in the afternoon to know her result that was published on that day.
Later, she returned home upset in the afternoon as she failed in the examination and hanged herself with her scarf from the fan in her room at about 9:00pm.
On information, police rushed to the spot.
Hotapara police sub-inspector Syed Azharul Islam confirmed the incident.
