Sirajganj: Bodies of a man and his two minor children were recovered from Cholon Bil, a marsh, at Nafo Syedpur village in Taras upazila of Sirajganj on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are 37-year-old Altaf Hossain, teacher of a seminary, also a resident of Gatdhari village in Tarash upazila near Cholon Bil, his daughter Alifa Khatun, aged 8 years, and son Nafil Hossain, who was 6 year old.

Altaf’s family said Altaf and his children were missing since they had gone for fishing in Cholon Bil on Monday afternoon.

Local people found their floating bodies on the water of Cholon Bil in the morning and called police.

Later the police went to the spot and recovered the body.

The Tarash police said it is believed that Altaf fall into the water while fishing in Cholon Bil, and his children also drowned in the marsh while they tried to rescue him from the water.
