HSC examinee kills herself after failure

Thakurgaon: A college girl, committed suicide by taking poison Sunday after knowing that she did not succeed in this year’s HSC exam, succumbed to her injuries at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Monday.
The deceased is Jafrin Khatun, who was around 18 years old, daughter of Khademul Islam of Gouripur village in Sadar upazila.
The sadar police, quoting family members, said Jafrin, got upset after knowing that she failed in this year’s HSC exam, which was published on 9 August, and took poison at their residence at about 3:00pm on the day.
She was taken to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) as her condition deteriorated.
Later, she died at the hospital on Monday night.
An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
