4 bodies recovered in Gazipur

Gazipur: Police recovered four bodies from different areas of the city of Gazipur on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Two among the deceased are Masum Mia, in his thirties, a resident of Dinajpur Sadar, and Raju Dewan, believed to be 33, a resident of Pagar area of Gazipur’s Tongi.   

Police said Masum, production manager of Devine Fabric Factory at Chandra, had been missing since Sunday.

The Kaliakaur police said local people called police after they saw a body floating in a waterbody in the early hours of Tuesday. Later police went to the spot at about 7:00am and recovered Masum’s body.

The Tangi police said they recovered Raju Dewan’s, who was a garment waste trader, body from Pagar area of Tangi at about 7:00am. 

The body has several injury marks in it, said the police. It is thought that Raju was hacked to death by miscreants in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Joydebpur police said local people called the police after discovering a body near Palerpara area and police recovered the body at about 9:00am.

The local people assumed the body as a van driver but the identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

Moreover, the Gazipur police said a body was recovered near Kalampur railway track at Kaliakaur at about 8:00am.

Police said the victim might be killed under train on Monday night.

The bodies of Masum, Raju, and supposed van driver were sent to Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy while the body of an unidentified man was taken to railway police station.
