Sherpur: A couple was killed when a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Chithalia in Nakla upazila, Sherpur, on Thursday.

The deceased is Jalal Mia, in his fifties, and his wife Rashida Begum, believed to be 45, of Dayarpar village in Sribodi upazila.

The Nakla police said the accident took place in the area at about 4:30am when a rice-laden truck from Dhaka hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving two auto-rickshaw passengers killed on the spot.
