'Sabotage' causes train derailment in Rajshahi

Rajshahi: Train services of Rajshahi with Chapainawabganj were cut off as a train derailed after miscreants removed fishplates from the railway track at Latitnagar Station in Godagari of Rajshahi early Saturday.
Abdul Karim, superintendent of Rajshahi Railway Station, said two compartments of an Ishwardi-bound train from Rohanpur in Chapainawabganj veered off the track at about 12:00am, halting train movement between Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj for several hours.
The incident took place as miscreants removed fishplates from the track during the ongoing nonstop transport blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance.
A relief train from Ishwardi rushed to the spot for salvage operation, the superintendent added.
However, no one was hurt during the incident.
Mukhlesur Rahman, duty officer of GRP thana, confirmed the incident.
