Juba Dal man hacked dead
Chittagong: A local activist of Juba Dal was chopped to death by miscreants in Pahartali area of the port city in Chittagong on Friday.
The victim is Saidul Islam, in his thirties, son of Ledu Miah of Sagorika area under Pahartali Police Station. He was an activist of Pahartali unit of Juba Dal.
Quoting family members, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Arifin Jewel said an unidentified man called Saidul out of his house to Murgi Farm-Alampara Pukurpar area at about 1:30pm.
Later, a group of ministrants who were waiting there beforehand hacked Saidul indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police identified four people involved with the murder but they did not disclose their names for the sake of out proper investigation, Arifin Jewel said.
Saidul was wanted in seven cases filed with different police stations, the police officer said.
Meanwhile, victim’s brother Azad said Saidul was a cable TV operator, alleging that his co-traders killed him over a previous dispute.
