Rajon killing: Hearing on charge-sheet 24 Aug
Sylhet: A court in Sylhet will hear on 24 August the acceptance of the charge-sheet against 13 people in a case filed in connection with the murder of teenage boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farhana Yasmin fixed the date on Monday, said general registrar of the court Farid Uddin.
On Sunday, police pressed charges against 13 people in the case filed over the gruesome murder of the teenage boy in Kumargaon area of the city on 8 July.
The accused are Muhit Alam , 32, Kamrul Alam, 24, Shamim Alam, 20, Pavel Islam, 20, Ali Haider alias Ali, 34, Choukidar Moyna Miah alias Boro Moyna, 45, Nur Mohammad alias Nur Miah, 20, Dulal Ahmed, 30, Ayaz Ali, 45, Taj Uddin Badal, 28, Firoz Miah, 50, Asmat Ali, 42, and Ruhul Amin.
Ten of the accused -- except Badal and Ruhul -- reportedly confessed to their involvement in the murder of Rajon before court under section 164 while Kamrul is in a Saudi jail.
On 8 July, 13-year-old boy Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in Sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.
The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident.
The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which triggered a widespread outcry.
