Magura:  An accused in a case over killing a man and shooting a baby in her mother’s womb during a clash between two groups of Juba League was killed in a reported gunfight with police in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police said, the deceased, Mehedi Hassan Ajibor, who was the second accused named in the case statement, was involved in drug trading.

The Magura police said two teams of detectives conducted a raid at Doarpara area on Monday night when miscreants opened fire to them. The miscreants left the spot as police also fired back. Later police found the body of Ajibor near a Mehgani orchard in the spot. Police recovered the body at about 12:30am and sent to Magura Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Police also recovered a local gun, a foreign gun, two bullets and three bottles of phensedyl from the spot.

Hosneara Khatun, wife of Ajibor, said police held Ajibor from Shimakhali area of Magura on Monday afternoon. Later, police informed Hosneara about the death of her husband.

On 23 July a seven-month expecting mother, Nazma Begum, aged 30, among three people suffered bullet injuries as she was caught in the line of fire during a clash between two groups of Jubo League activists.
