Gazipur: A motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a bus in Tongi Bazar area in Gazipur on Saturday.

The deceased, 28-year old Shafiqul Islam, is a resident of Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur, said police.

Tongi Police sub-inspector Ataur Rahman said the accident took place in the area at about 7:30am when a bus of Anabil Paribahan hit the motorcycle from behind, leaving Shafiqul injured.

Islam was taken to Tongi Government Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police seized the bus but could not detain anyone as the driver managed to flee.
