2 deer rescued, 200kg venison seized
Barguna: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive rescued two deer and seized around 200kg venison from Badurtola area of Patharghata upazila in Barguna on early Sunday.
Tipped off, a team of Coast Guard conducted drive in the area adjacent to Bishkhali river at about 3:30am and challenged a trawler, said Patharghata station commander Lieutenant F A Rouf.
Sensing the presence of the Coast Guard members the poachers fled the scene.
Later, the team seized the trawler from which they rescued two deer and recovered around 200 kg venison.
The rescued deer were handed over to Patharghata Forest Department.
