Tarique among 32 chargesheeted
Gazipur: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman and 31 other leaders and activists of the party were chargesheeted in a violence case in Gazipur.
Police superintend Harun Aur Rashid on Tuesday submitted the charge sheet to Gazipur judicial magistrate’s court.
Harun Aur Rashid said assistant sub-inspector Dilip Chandra Sarkar filed a case under special power act with Joydebpur police against Tarique Rahman and 31 others for instigating bombing and arson attack in a bus at Gazipur’s Hotapara on 21 January.
The other accused in the case are Motaleb Member, Aminul Islam, Ramzan Ali, Mohammad Shamim, Mohammad Azhar, Mohammad Sohel, Mohammad Imran, Lovelu Mia, Halim Sikder, Jabbar, Ershadul, Mohammad Wasim, Mohammad Shahidul Alam, Anwar Hossain, Mannan Sikder, Ali Hossain Sikder, Habibur Rahman Musulli, Jahangir, Manjurul Ahsan Rony, Lutfur Rahman Badal, Mohammad Omar Faruque, Kashem Sikder, Mohammad Masud, Mohammad Quddus, Abdul Aziz, Jalaluddin, Mohammad Nayem, Azizul Islam, Ali Akbar, Mohammad Mobarak, and Mohammad Habibullah.
