Magura: Police held three people carrying 80 gold bars at Sadar upazila in Magura during the early hours of Wednesday.

The Magura police said a team of Sadar police led by Officer-in-Charge(OC) Asaduzzaman Munshi and Sub-Inspector (SI) Arifur Rahman conducted a raid in a Sangram Paribahan bus in front of Primary Teachers’ Training Institute (PTI) School and found the gold bars weighing 8 kilograms after searching three passengers’ bodies at about 5:00am.

The detainees are Subodh Kumar Shil, Niranjan Sikder, and Sumon Chanda Shil.

Subodh and Niranjan are residents of Manikganj while Sumon is from Savar.

The arrestees were taken to Magura Sadar police station for questioning.

A case was filed with Magura Sadar police in this connection.
