Sylhet: A woman was killed and 10 others were injured as a boat sank in the Sonai River in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj, Sylhet on Thursday.

The deceased is Firoza Begum, wife of Nur Mia of Madhabpur municipality area.

Witnesses said the boat sank in the mid river with 15 passengers on board while going to Akhaura Kharampur Hazrat Sayed Gesudaraz Kalla Mazar Sharif at about 4:00pm.

Firoza Begum drowned in the river and died while 10 others were injured in the incident.

Four injured were taken to Brahmanbaria Modern Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
