Bus plunge kills 3 in Jamalpur

Dhaka: Three members of a family were killed and four others were injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch near Bakshiganj in Jamalpur on early Saturday.
The accident occurred at Battamor Natunbazar on the Roumari-Bakshiganj road in Bakshiganj upazila at about 6:00am when the microbus carrying seven people was proceeding to Kurigram from Dhaka.
The deceased are Babul, his wife Shilpi and their 10-month-old son, Abdullah.
Bakshiganj Police officer in-charge Mostasinur Rahman said the driver lost control when it went near Char Rajibpur area, and plunged into the roadside ditch, leaving three dead on the spot and four others injured.
The injured were given first aid at a local hospital.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the microbus and detained its driver Abu Bakar from the spot.
A case was filed in this connection.
