Manikganj: Two people were killed as a truck flipped on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Baliajhuri area of Ghior upazila, Manikganj, on Saturday night.

The deceased are Taimur Rahman, and Alal Uddin, a resident of Dumuria upazila in Khulna. They are vegetable traders.

The Borongail police said the accident took place when driver of a Dhaka-bound truck from Khulna losing control over its wheel overturned on the highway in the area at about 10:30pm, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection.
