Rajshahi: Police arrested 62 Jamaat-e-Islami and Shibir activists from a mosque at Chawk Chhatari in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday night.

The Bagha police said a team of police raided Chak Chhatari Mosque in the area and arrested the Jamaat-e-Islami and Shibir activists while they were holding a meeting at about 9:00pm.

Bagha municipality unit Jamaat ameer Saiful Islam and office secretary Emaj Uddin were among the arrestees.

Police said Bagha municipality unit Jamaat ameer Saiful Islam was wanted in a case for subversive activities.
