Former BCL leader shot dead

Chittagong: A former local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was shot to death by a group of miscreants in Shershah Colony area of the city of Chittagong on Tuesday night.
The deceased is Mehedi Hasan Badol, a resident of the area, and a former president of BCL Panchlaish thana unit.
He had joined ruling Awami Leagues’ youth front Juba League after resigning as Panchlaish BCL president.
The Bayezid police said miscreants opened fire on him when he was standing in front of his house in the area at about 10:00pm, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital after being rescued by a patrol team of police.
Later he died at the hospital at about 10:30pm.
He was also follower of Chittagong city corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, added the police.
Badol was accused in several cases filed with Panchlaish and Bayezid polices.
