14 BNP men sent to jail
Sylhet: A Sylhet court on Tuesday sent 14 Bangladesh Nationalist Party leaders and activists to jail after rejecting their bail petitions in a case filed for vandalising vehicles.
Jakiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Khairul Amin issued the order when the BNP leaders and activists appeared before his court.
Jakiganj upazila BNP unit president Helal Ahmad Chowdhury and organising
secretary Hasan Ahmad, former union council chairman Nasir Ahmad, municipality BNP unit general secretary Abdus Sakur and organising secretary Abul Kalam Sagar, municipality Chhatra Dal convener Samsuddoha and Saleh Ahmad were among those sent to jail.
The court also rejected the bail petitions of the 14 BNP men when their lawyers filed separate petitions seeking bail for them.
