Pabna: A young man was shot to death by miscreants at Bharatpur village in Atghoria upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased is Salauddin Ahmed alias Bishal Khan, in his twenties.

Atghoria police sub-inspector Alamgir Hossain said a gang of miscreants entered the house of Bishal by breaking open the door while he was sleeping at about 8:30 am.The criminals opened fire on Bishal and hurriedly left the scene, leaving him dead on the spot.

Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police also arrested nine people on suspicion of the killing.

A case was filed in this connection.
