Sirajganj: Police detained a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader from Ekdhala in Sirajganj town on Monday in connection with the petrol bomb attack on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Ramgati of the town that left one passenger of the vehicle dead.

The detainee was Ariful Islam Arif, JCD the student wing of BNP, Sirajganj Government University College unit organising secretary.

Sirajganj police officer in-charge Habibul Islam said on a tip off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and detained him at about 5:30 pm.

Arif was accused in the case filed for the petrol bomb attack on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Ramgati area of the town that left one passenger of the vehicle dead, the OC added.
