Satkhira: An alleged Yaba trader was received bullet in a clash between police and drug peddlers at Ichhakur in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira in the early hours of Tuesday.

The injured is Mansur Ali,a resident of Chandipur Badoghata village of the upazila.

The Shyamnagar police said a team of police conducted a drive when some drug peddlers were selling Yaba in the area.

When the law enforcers challenged the Yaba peddlers, they threw brick chips at them, promoting the law enforces to open fire, leaving Mansur injured with bullet.

Later, police arrested him along with 28 Yaba tablets from the spot.

Mansur was admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital under police custody.

The arrestee was wanted in 18 drug-related cases with Shyamnagar Police Station, added police.

A case was filed in this connection.
