Habiganj: Police on Tuesday arrested two young men in Habiganj for abducting and raping a schoolgirl.

Habiganj police said a group of miscreants abducted a class-VIII female student from the PTI area while she was going to school on 17 June.

They raped the girl and captured the video of the incident by mobile.

The girl did not disclose the incident fearing social stigma.

The miscreants recently shared the video with their friends through WhatsApp messenger.

The father of the girl filed a case with Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station against five people after the incident came to light.

Officer-in-charge of the police station, Nazim Uddin, conducted drives and arrested two persons.

Drive is on to arrest others involved in the incident, said Nazim Uddin.
