Chandpur: A minor boy drowned in a pool at Maishadi in Sadar upazila of Chandpur on Friday.

The deceased is Arafat, 2, son of Mijan Khan, a resident of the area.

Witnesses said Arafat slipped into the puddle at about 11:00am when he was playing near the pool.

Local people rescued Arafat from the puddle and took him to Chandpur General Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
