Dhaka: Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has installed certification marks (CM) automation to provide certificates online.

With the automation, the entire system has gone digital, and the BSTI will receive applications and provide certificates through online.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Thursday inaugurated the CM automation at Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital.

He said now anyone can submit application, pay application and marking fees online. The BSTI certificate will go to the applicant’s email as soon as the marking fee is paid.

Besides, buyers and consumers now can know whether any particular product is certified browsing the BSTI website, the minister said.

Industries Senior Secretary Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan also spoke at the inaugural event presided over by BSTI Director General Iqramul Haque.

Iqramul said the only CM wing among the six wings of BSTI has been brought under the automation. The remaining ones will be brought under the same system in the future to bring dynamism in its services.
