DITF ends, Tk 243.44cr worth export orders received
Dhaka: The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2017 ended with a record Tk 243.44 crore worth export orders.
Besides, the businesspeople sold products worth Tk 113.53 crore in the 35-day long 22nd DITF, it was disclosed at the closing ceremony of the DITF.
Public administration minister Syed Ashraful Islam attended the programme as chief guest while senior secretary of the Commerce Ministry Hedayetullah Al Mamun as special guest.
Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Abdul Matlub Ahmed and Vice Chairman of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Begum Mafruha Sultana also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Ashraful Islam said businesspeople are taking the country ahead and farmers are also playing role in this regard.
He said Bangladesh has made a significant progress in innovation. DITF will continue to encourage such innovative activities, he said, adding that this fair will be held in a broader space in future.
Hedayetullah Al Mamun said businesspeople played key role in making the month-ling DITF a success.
Abdul Matlub Ahmed said DITF ended successful in cooperation of all quarters. He said the fair is now held by constructing big pavilions though small stalls were set up in DITF in the past. Bangladesh imported shoes-furniture but it is now exporting these products, he added.
